In October 2024, I led the editorial direction for the Accessibility Project, a campaign designed to open Amsterdam’s museum doors wider to people with disabilities. The project combined technical updates with authentic stories, working closely with individuals with lived experience to share their tips and recommendations for exploring the city.
We collaborated with a diverse group of models with disabilities, capturing them exploring Amsterdam’s museums. These images were used across the project, social channels, and marketing materials, redesigning landing pages and key visuals to showcase inclusivity and better represent people with disabilities.
Partnering closely with the image team, I ensured every channel reflected a more inclusive, visible, and welcoming city.
I commissioned and edited a series of articles from writers with lived experience of different disabilities, highlighting their favourite museums and sharing practical, insider tips for enjoying Amsterdam.
In partnership with Amsterdam’s cultural institutions, we introduced clear, at-a-glance accessibility icons and updated all listings and database items to reflect accessibility features and credentials, making it easier for visitors to plan their visits confidently.
We also conducted a technical SEO audit to improve website accessibility and discoverability, ensuring that visitors could easily find the information they needed to plan their museum visits confidently.
